Stories honored in this very first Kerth Awards ceremony have an extra shine. Eligible stories weren't drawn just from those circulated in 1997 — rather, all stories the fandom had produced, from the very beginning back in 1993 and 1994 and through 1997, were eligible. This is the period, while the show was airing, that membership in FoLCdom reached its peak, when we had record numbers of FoLCs in the community and when record numbers of stories were being written.
