Notice Something Different?
We've changed our look!
According to Google Analytics, slightly more than 60% of our readership is visiting the archive via iOS or Android devices, and less than 40% using Windows or Mac PCs. It's about time we adopted a responsive design that will optimize the display for readers whether they're using smartphones, tablets or wide desktop displays. We hope you like it!
We got our look from the talented designer at HTML5 UP. He even gave us some extra features we requested — check out the buttons at the bottom of each page that allow you to change the size of the text and switch the color theme (either dark text on a light background, or invert for light text on a dark background, which is especially soothing for reading at night). Thanks, AJ!
If you spot an error we've made transitioning the site, can't find a favorite feature or notice something that seems wrong, please write the webmaster. Be sure to check the Site Map to see if we've stashed a link to what you're looking for there.
P.S. It's been a while since we updated our FAQ files, so we want to make sure authors know that our preferred format for story submissions is now Microsoft Word .doc files (or variants) or OpenOffice/LibreOffice .odt files. This means you no longer have to use workarounds *like this* to put words in italics — use italics in your stories with abandon! Because our native display format is now HTML, not text, we can easily display italics. And your archive General Editor will thank you for ditching those asterisks!
