Applause.
"… and I'd like to say that I don't babble. Well… people say I do, but this is not the issue right now. I mean… I don't know why people say I'm a brook or anything like that because I know that I don't speak that much and that I can stop talking whenever I want."
She paused for a second and took a deep breath.
"See? I know how to control myself. Seriously! I can stop any time now, if I want. I just don't feel like it. Especially when I'm nervous, because I tend to release all my tensions through talking. That's how I relax… I guess. Well, either this or a huge bar of Hersheys would be the only things able to calm me down. But when I'm not stressed because of work or because of anything else, I tend to be quiet. Just like now. I'm not tense… I'm calm… very calm, and I'm not babbling."
Clark chuckled, while Lois, who had been quiet throughout the speech, turned to face her husband.
"You think it's funny?" she asked, aggravated.
"Lois, come on… it is funny."
"No, it's not!"
"Lois, for God sake, it was just a joke."
"I don't like when you do this."
"I can't applaud it?"
"No!"
"Lois… you're over-reacting."
"Over-reacting? What do you mean over-reacting? I'm not over- reacting! Who said I babble? I don't babble at all! I know how to control myself. Seriously! I can stop any time now if I want. I just don't feel like it. I'm calm… very calm, and I'm not babbl…"
She paused for a second and took a deep breath.
"Sara, you're grounded for a week! This will teach you not to mock your own mother!"
