Summary: A poem inspired by Clark's absence in Lois's life while he is on New Krypton.
***
When she picked up the phone
There was only a tone
And a choking kind of
Loneliness
Would suddenly take hold
She would try — <to remember his eyes
Look for him in the skies
Her heart would swell as she pictured him
Flying
And then she would cry
Things eternal are those not seen
Saddest phrase — what might have been
Watching those empty stars up above and
Gleaming
All she could do was dream
But all the emptiness just grew
And soon there was no room
In life for silly dreams still
Blooming
Only hope that they would come true.
That someday soon they would come true.
